AutoSkills (United Kingdom) in Tonbridge is seeking an experienced Vehicle Technician / MOT Tester to join a well-established automotive workshop. You will service, inspect, diagnose and repair vehicles to a high standard, including MOT tests and pre-delivery inspections, while maintaining safety and quality.

The role offers a competitive salary (£34,000 - £37,000) with bonuses, ongoing training and progression opportunities in a modern workshop environment.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair or equivalent experience.
• Current MOT Tester Licence.
• A full UK driving licence.
• Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.

• The ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out MOT tests, servicing and vehicle repairs.
• Completing vehicle health checks and identifying additional work.
• Carrying out pre-delivery inspections on new and used vehicles.
• Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults.
• Completing repairs in line with manufacturer guidelines.
• Carrying out road tests to confirm repairs have been completed correctly.
• Checking tyres, brakes, lights and mechanical/electrical components.
• Fitting customer-requested accessories.
• Completing all relevant paperwork accurately.
• Maintaining high standards of workmanship and vehicle safety.

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Technician / MOT Tester to join a well-established and professional automotive workshop in Tonbridge.

The Role

As a Vehicle Technician / MOT Tester, you will be responsible for servicing, inspecting, diagnosing and repairing vehicles to a high standard.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Carrying out MOT tests, servicing and vehicle repairs
• Completing vehicle health checks and identifying additional work
• Carrying out pre-delivery inspections on new and used vehicles
• Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults

What We're Looking For

We're keen to speak with experienced Vehicle Technicians, Mechanics and MOT Testers from both main dealer and independent garage backgrounds.

You will ideally have:

• NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair or equivalent experience
• A current MOT Tester Licence
• A full UK driving licence
• Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• A professional approach to your work
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team

Working Hours

Monday-Friday: 8:30am - 5:00pm

Saturday: 8:30am - 12:30pm on a rota basis

40 hours per week

Location: Tonbridge, Kent
