Job summary

Auto Skills UK is seeking an experienced Vehicle Technician / MOT Tester in Tonbridge, Kent. The role involves servicing, inspecting, diagnosing and repairing vehicles to a high standard within a modern workshop, with training and progression opportunities. You will perform MOT tests, health checks and pre-delivery inspections, plus road tests and paperwork.

Hours are Monday to Friday with Saturday rota. Salary is £34,000–£37,000 basic, with OTE around £41,000+.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair or equivalent
• A current MOT Tester Licence
• A full UK driving licence
• Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills
• Excellent attention to detail

• The ability to work independently and as part of a team
• A genuine interest in developing your technical skills and career

Responsibilities

• Carrying out MOT tests, servicing and vehicle repairs
• Completing vehicle health checks and identifying additional work
• Carrying out pre-delivery inspections on new and used vehicles
• Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults
• Completing repairs in line with manufacturer guidelines
• Carrying out road tests to confirm repairs have been completed correctly
• Checking tyres, brakes, lights and mechanical/electrical components
• Fitting customer-requested accessories
• Completing all relevant paperwork accurately
• Maintaining high standards of workmanship and vehicle safety
