Our Technicians provide the essential link between the Team Leader and the team's Operatives.
Technicians specialize in various disciplines. For this role, you'll become a specialist in:
Track: You'll be responsible for maintaining, inspecting, and repairing the track network (also known as the Permanent Way or P-Way) to keep the railway safe and efficient. This is a manual role involving working with rails, sleepers, ballast, drainage, and ancillary structures.
Our Technicians work outdoors in all conditions, day or night, often involving manual labor and transporting equipment across challenging terrain. Safety, adherence to rules, and teamwork are critical, especially when working near moving trains at high speeds.
A natural team player, you'll be able to lead when asked by the team leader. You'll use your skills to deliver work safely and ensure the team has the right competencies to meet safety standards. Being a role model for safe working behaviors and confidently challenging risks to safety are essential to ensure everyone's safety.
