Job summary

Rubicon Consulting is seeking a Technical Trainer (Assessor) based in Newcastle for a 6-month rolling contract inside IR35. You will deliver and assess engineering courses up to level 2 in-house and verify level 3 competencies in line with apprenticeship standards.

You will coordinate and track all elements of the apprentice standard, mentor learners, and develop and maintain course materials, including lesson plans. Proficiency with OneFile and a commitment to Zero Harm culture are essential.

Qualifications

• Must have a Machining/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering qualification.
• Level 5 Teaching Qualification or equivalent is required.
• TAQA is required.
• D32/D33 or A1 Assessors Award is required.
• D34 or V1 Verifiers Award is required.
• Enhanced DBS clearance with Adults and Children’s Barred lists.

Responsibilities

• Delivery, assessment and internal verification of engineering courses up to level 2 in-house.
• Assessment and internal verification of level 3 competencies per apprenticeship standards.
• Coordinate, track and ensure timely completion of apprentice elements; mentor apprentices.
• Develop and maintain engineering course materials, including lesson plans and schemes of work.
• Use OneFile to maintain records and evidence of learning.
• Review content and delivery methods to meet future needs and drive improvements.
• Uphold Zero Harm culture and compliance guidelines.

Job description

Rubicon Consulting is currently recruiting for a Technical Trainer on a 6-month rolling contract, located in Newcastle.

This role falls Inside IR35.

To undertake the role of Technical Trainer (Assessor) you will be responsible for:

• The delivery, assessment and internal verification of engineering courses up to level 2 in-house and
• The assessment and internal verification of level 3 competencies in line with apprenticeship standards
• To co-ordinate, track and ensure the timely completion of all elements of the apprentice standard, mentoring apprentices in the development of their knowledge, skills and behaviours required for the standard
• The development and maintenance of engineering course materials, including lesson plans and schemes of work
• Using OneFile to maintain effective and efficient record keeping, ensuring all relevant evidence of learning is accurately and correctly documented and completed for each learner
• Review course content and delivery methods to allow for future needs and update working methods, techniques and own professional development
• Ensure the Zrero Harm culture and compliance guidelines are upheld

Suitable candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

• Relevant Machining/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering qualification
• Level 5 Teaching Qualification or equivalent
• Training Assessment and Quality Assurance Award (TAQA)
• D32/D33 or A1 Assessors Award
• D34 or V1 Verifiers Award
• Hold or have ability to obtain Enhanced DBS security clearance with Adults and Children’s Barred listed
