Job summary

Adecco is seeking a Technical Trainer/Assessor (Engineering) in Newcastle Upon Tyne to deliver and assess engineering courses up to Level 2, and verify Level 3 competencies for apprenticeship standards. The role includes mentoring learners, developing materials, and maintaining records in OneFile.

The position is onsite for an initial 6-month period with potential for permanency. Candidates should hold a Level 5 Teaching Qualification (or equivalent) and have TAQA/A1/D34 related credentials as

Qualifications

• Qualified to teach engineering-related subjects (Machining, Electrical, or Mechanical).
• Level 5 Teaching Qualification or equivalent.
• TAQA - desired.
• D32/D33 or A1 Assessors Award - desired.
• D34 or V1 Verifiers Award - desired.
• Ability to obtain Enhanced DBS clearance.

Responsibilities

• Delivering, assessing, and internally verifying engineering courses up to Level 2 in-house.
• Assessing and internally verifying Level 3 competencies in line with apprenticeship standards.
• Coordinating, tracking, and ensuring timely completion of apprenticeship elements; mentoring apprentices.
• Developing and maintaining engineering course materials, including lesson plans and schemes of work.
• Using OneFile for record-keeping and documenting learners' evidence.
• Reviewing content and delivery to anticipate future needs and updating methods and development.

Our client, a leading organisation in the engineering sector, is seeking a dynamic and knowledgeable Technical Trainer (Assessor) to join their team. Key Responsibilities:

As a Technical Trainer, you will play a pivotal role in:

• Delivering, assessing, and internally verifying engineering courses up to Level 2 in-house.
• Assessing and internally verifying Level 3 competencies in alignment with apprenticeship standards.
• Coordinating, tracking, and ensuring the timely completion of all elements of the apprenticeship standard, while mentoring apprentices in the development of their essential knowledge, skills, and behaviours.
• Developing and maintaining comprehensive engineering course materials, including lesson plans and schemes of work.
• Utilising OneFile for effective record-keeping, ensuring all relevant evidence of learning is documented accurately for each learner.
• Reviewing course content and delivery methods to anticipate future needs, while updating working methods, techniques, and personal professional development.

Candidate Requirements:

Our client is looking for suitable candidates who meet the following criteria:

• Relevant qualifications in Machining, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.
• A Level 5 Teaching Qualification or equivalent.
• Training Assessment and Quality Assurance Award (TAQA) - Desired
• D32/D33 or A1 Assessors Award - Desired
• D34 or V1 Verifiers Award - Desired
• The ability to obtain Enhanced DBS security clearance with Adults and Children's Barred lists.
