Job summary

Workdry International Ltd is seeking a Technical Trainer – Electrical to lead the training cycle and deliver electrical training across pumping products. You will support design, service, maintenance, and operational training while driving improvements through feedback from the field.

The role requires strong communication, safety awareness, and the ability to work both independently and within a team. Significant on-site training and collaboration with OEMs are expected.

Qualifications

  • Level 3 Diploma in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
  • Experience delivering technical training and creating training materials.
  • Experience with electrical pumping systems and rotating equipment.
  • Proven ability to present to varied audiences and adapt tone.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver electrical training across the Workdry product range to ensure high competency.
  • Design detailed training pathways for electrical personnel.
  • Update pathway matrices and document competency sign-offs.
  • Collaborate with external OEMs to gain product expertise.
  • On-site training delivery with compliance to SHEQ requirements.
  • Draft and refine procedures and training content for improvements.

Job description

About The Role

As part of the GTIS technical training team, the Technical Trainer – Electrical will lead the feedback cycle and deliver electrical application support and training across the full range of pumping products within the Workdry Group. The role is responsible for raising technical standards by supporting design and delivering service, maintenance and operational training for electrical teams, while driving continuous improvement through structured feedback into products, processes and training content.

Responsibilities
  • Provide consistent technical training within the Workdry academy to the electrical teams to maintain the highest standards across the business. Audiences will range from new electricians starting within the group through to advanced installations for experienced electricians.
  • Support training management to design a detailed training pathway for all electrical personnel within the Workdry group.
  • Update pathway matrix for each individual regarding technical competence and abilities.
  • Work alongside the Technical Author to feedback detailed technical process improvements for existing content within the business and any new equipment brought into the fleet.
  • Complete and submit required documentation associated with all electrical training pathways to required standards including evidence and sign‑offs of competency in abilities.
  • Work with external Pump OEMs to become experts on those products.
  • Deliver relevant product service, maintenance and operational training to internal electrical personnel on site, as and when required.
  • Personally carry out all activities in compliance with company policies, safe working practices, and SHEQ reporting requirements, having regard for own health and safety as well as other parties and the environment.
  • Act as an ambassador of the Company, setting a professional example of good management and discipline, always demonstrating Company core values and promoting Company products, services and image.
  • Proactively support the continuous improvement and implementation of products, services, standards and processes by contributing to research and development projects, new innovations and written procedures as and when required.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Level 3 Diploma (or equivalent) in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Instrumentation, or a related field.
  • Practical experience in electrical pumping systems or rotating equipment including pumps, turbines and generators.
  • Experience of developing and writing sound processes, procedures, training materials and user guides for internal employees.
  • Experience in delivering technical presentations and projects to a range of skill‑set audiences with adaptability in tone, language and style.
  • Previous experience of using PLC, 3‑Phase electric motors, VSD programming, control systems, telemetry and fault‑finding in electrical equipment.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to be assertive, articulate and engaging, while building confidence across all stakeholders.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of all SHEQ requirements to uphold high levels of safety adhering to all safety legislation.
  • Ability to collaborate within the team, to develop innovative solutions and processes, with the ability to think outside the box and take ideas from external sources.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong IT literacy, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
  • Experience in administration tasks such as registers, compliance tracking and reporting and training matrix management (or similar tasks).
