Job summary

Lockheed Martin in Helensburgh, Scotland, is seeking a Training Designer to design and deliver training material for Defence standards, aligning with JSP 822 and UK MoD requirements. The role is predominantly on site with a 4-day work week option, supporting a team delivering secure satellite communications for the UK and allies.

You will interview SMEs, review training docs, and help deliver outputs that meet Defence quality standards.

Qualifications

The role

Be part of a team delivering the next generation of secure military communications satellites for the UK Ministry of Defence. This work provides resilient, high-performance connectivity for the UK, its allies and Defence personnel worldwide, playing a critical role in protecting national security as space becomes more contested and demand for secure data continues to grow.

Responsibilities

• Design & deliver engaging training material to Defence Standards
• Conduct reviews of training documentation in accordance with company and Defence quality standards
• Conduct structured interviews with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and stakeholders to capture training requirements
• Support operational training delivery outputs and wider training team goals

Required Skills and Experience

• Training Design experience in Engineering, Defence, Armed Forces or a similar environment
• Strong communication and presentation skills – confident in front of a room
• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to balance priorities
• A proactive, flexible and motivated approach
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
• Experience in training design and delivery in accordance with JSP 822

Desired Skills

• Training Needs Analysis experience
• Knowledge of Defence instructional standards

Qualifications and Experience

Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 6 years of professional experience; or 4 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree. Considered career, or journey, level.
