Job summary

Raytheon UK is seeking a Courseware Designer to join our Training Transformation Services. You will analyse training needs, design and maintain DSAT documentation, and collaborate with SMEs to deliver DSAT-aligned training materials.

The role requires strong communication and a solid background in training design, including Articulate 360. You will work in a hybrid model with potential site-based and remote options, contributing to safe, effective training for defence and aerospace applications

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills at all levels, internal and customer-facing.
• Experience in designing and developing significant training courses.
• Good working knowledge of training design and development processes for training media.
• Ability to work autonomously and in a team.
• Experience with Articulate 360.

Responsibilities

• Analyse, design, maintain, review and produce DSAT documentation and processes for military training sites and organisations.
• Create, maintain and update Training Design from FTS to ASpec in DSAT templates.
• Interview subject matter experts to collect required data.
• Participate in workshops to discuss findings and drive improvements.
• Maintain course syllabi, trainer qualifications and required resources.
• Update Training Design materials to reflect new requirements and feedback.
• Identify opportunities to gain accreditation for new/changed training.
• Champion environmental, health and safety compliance and continuous improvement.

Role & Responsibilities

Responsibilities

• Work as a member of a team responsible for the analysis, design, maintenance, review and production of DSAT Documentation & processes for military training sites and organisations.
• Producing, maintaining and/or updating Training Design from: Formal Training Statement (FTS) (including the Training Performance Statement (TPS), Training Objectives (TOs), Workplace Training Statement (WTS) and Residual Training Gap Statement (RTGS) to delivery of Assessment Strategy (AStrat) and Assessment Specification (ASpec), Learning Specification (LSpec) Training Authorisation Document (TrAD) in DSAT compliant course templates.
• Interviewing subject matter experts to collate required data.
• Participate in internal workshops to discuss and agree findings from analysis.
• The upkeep, update and revalidation of course syllabi and standards, trainer competence, qualification and experience requirements.
• Conducting the upkeep, update, and revalidation of course information, including but not limited to, course size limits, health and safety, relevant rules and regulations, course length and required support and resources.
• Conducting and maintain Training Design in response to new training requirements, including those arising from New Capabilities, to ensure that training satisfies operational / workplace performance requirements, provides the design output requirements required by the Authority and is kept up-to-date.
• Updating Training Design materials to incorporate relevant recommendations and feedback from internal and external assurance, to ensure that training remains up-to-date and satisfies operational/workplace performance requirements.
• Identifying opportunities to provide accreditation for new and/or amended training as designed, and/or any amendments or implications for existing accreditations following Training Design changes.
• Be ‘Responsible for championing and fostering a culture of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) compliance and continuous improvement’.
• Any other duties required to complete the CMDC Training Service

Required experience
