Job summary

Lockheed Martin UK Space seeks an experienced Training Designer to develop and deliver training solutions for Defence customers and internal teams. You will design engaging material, coordinate with SMEs, and ensure Defence standards compliance (JSP 822) while supporting a broader training strategy.

Qualifications

  • Experience in Training design for Engineering/Defence or similar environments.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
  • Experience aligning training with JSP 822 standards.

Plans, develops, and implements technical product training programs for customers, and/or employees, and field support personnel. Technical training may include standard, repeatable modules, customized and new product modules. Obtains information from customer and technical organizations, engineering, software and product requirements to prepare training programs; prepares lesson plans and training materials; designs product demonstrations; develops course content; determines methodology; and coordinates the development of training aids. Conducts training sessions, product demonstrations, and develops criteria for evaluating effectiveness of training activities. May utilize trainers with technical expertise. May administer tests. Continuously revises lesson plans to ensure course material reflect product features, meet new training requirements and to keep technical information up to date. May include military trainers.

The Role

LMUK Space are seeking an experienced Training Designer to develop and deliver impactful training solutions. This is an opportunity to shape the skills & knowledge of our workforce - we are looking for an enthusiastic team member who can bring fresh ideas to training design and delivery.

The individual selected for this role will be responsible for:

  • Design & deliver engaging training material to Defence Standards
  • Conduct reviews of training documentation in accordance with company and Defence quality standards
  • Conduct structured interviews with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and stakeholders to capture training requirements
  • Support operational training delivery outputs and wider training team goals.
Required Skills, Qualifications And Experience
  • Training Design experience in Engineering, Defence, Armed Forces or a similar environment
  • Strong communication and presentation skills — confident in front of a room
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to balance priorities
  • A proactive, flexible and motivated approach

  • Experience in training design and delivery in accordance with JSP 822
