Rise Technical Recruitment is seeking a Technical Support Engineer to join a smart building technology team in Reading. You will provide technical support to installation partners, advise on system design and help deliver projects, building strong partner relationships.

The role offers extensive product training, an international training programme, progression opportunities and a competitive package including a £38k-£42k salary plus a £6k annual bonus.

Technical Support Engineer: Smart Technology

Reading – Commutable from Basingstoke, Newbury, Bracknell, Wokingham, Thatcham

Are you from a technical background such as Electrical, AV, Networking, IT, Controls or Security, looking to move into an office based role where you can combine your technical knowledge with customer interaction?

This is a fantastic opportunity to enter the rapidly growing building automation industry, receiving extensive technical training while becoming a trusted specialist supporting a network of professional installation partners.

This company is a rapidly growing technology business operating within the smart building sector. They are known for investing heavily in their people, offering extensive technical training, long term development and excellent opportunities to progress.

In this role, you will manage and support a portfolio of installation partners, troubleshooting technical problems, advising on system design and helping them successfully deliver projects. You will build strong relationships with your partners, becoming their first point of contact while helping them develop their technical capability and grow their businesses.

This role would suit somebody with strong technical aptitude who enjoys solving problems and dealing with people. Previous building automation or sales experience is not required, provided you have practical technical experience, networking knowledge and the ability to confidently communicate technical information.

The Role

• Provide technical support and troubleshooting to installation partners

The Person

• Background in Electrical, AV, Networking, IT, Controls, Security or similar
• Practical technical experience
• Confident communicator who enjoys working with customers
• Strong problem solving skills and ability to independently learn new technology
