We are seeking a Technical Support Engineer with a background in heavy plant or off-highway vehicle diagnostics and customer support. This role involves providing expert assistance to external customers and internal departments.

Position Details

• Title: Technical Support Engineer – Off Highway Vehicles / Heavy Plant & Equipment
• Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 + benefits
• Location: Cambridge

Responsibilities

Working within a small team of dedicated Technical Support Engineers, you will be responsible for a specific product range for a major vehicle manufacturer and distributor. Your role involves acting as the technical expert for construction vehicles, providing specialist support to ensure optimal performance and exceptional service. Technical queries may range from oil specifications to complex diagnostics requiring research and analysis.

Candidate Profile

• Experience in heavy plant or construction machinery, with knowledge of brands such as CAT, Develon, Doosan, Hitachi, Volvo, Komatsu, Leibheer, Terex, Hydrema, or similar. Experience with commercial vehicles, agricultural, or military vehicles is also relevant.
• Previous roles as Service Engineer, Workshop Engineer, or Support Engineer are highly desirable.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to learn new technologies and effectively share information.
• Engineering qualification such as NVQ, C&G, BTEC, or Degree, with apprentice or time-served background.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong IT proficiency.
• Flexible team player adaptable to job requirements.
