Job summary

Agilent Technologies LDA UK Limited is seeking a Technical Support Engineer to troubleshoot and resolve software issues on Client/Server and Standalone PC configurations. You will work mainly remotely as part of a team in Cheadle (Manchester) with occasional customer-site visits for installations and servicing.

The role requires a degree in Chemistry or Life Science and strong IT/software skills, plus experience in analytical techniques.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor, Master or PhD in Chemistry or Life Science with demonstratable IT/software skills.
  • Experience with analytical techniques (e.g. chromatography, mass spectrometry, spectroscopy) in a lab environment is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills; strong remote troubleshooting ability; structured, detail-oriented work approach.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high level reactive and proactive technical services for Agilent product software portfolio.
  • Work as part of a 15-strong remote engineering team from the Cheadle head office; remote TROUBLESHOOTING on software, hardware and applications.
  • Resolve problems to optimize uptime and efficiency of customer systems; travel to customer sites for installations, repairs and servicing as needed.

Information about Agilent is available at www.agilent.com.Join Us in Cheadle (Manchester, UK): You will join a successful team of Technical Support Engineers providing first class support to our customers utilising a variety of remote diagnostic tools.Your primary role will be troubleshooting and resolving software issues on customer’s Client/Server and Standalone PC configurations. This will require troubleshooting of PC network communication, instrument control, data analysis and database issues as well as using virtualization software to reproduce problems in-house. You will also be required to provide support on out instrumentation so experience with analytical techniques are required.You will occasionally be required to visit customer sites for installations, repairs and scheduled services.
