Job summary

BFT Automation, part of SOMFY Group, is hiring for a Technical Support role based at our UK Stockport office. You will help professional installers diagnose and resolve issues with BFT products, combining telephone support with hands-on testing and occasional packing duties.

You’ll work with a small UK team, use structured questioning to distinguish faults, and escalate when needed. Prior experience in access automation or electrical installation is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Provide telephone support to installers and guide through installation, wiring, programming and fault diagnosis.
• Develop knowledge of hydraulic and electromechanical motors, control panels and safety accessories.
• Interpret wiring diagrams and technical manuals to diagnose issues.
• Follow safety practices when handling electrical and hydraulic equipment.
• Able to document enquiries and actions clearly for traceability.

Responsibilities

• Provide telephone support to professional installers, guiding through installation, wiring, programming, commissioning and fault diagnosis.
• Inspect and test returned motors and control panels and identify fault causes.
• Carry out repairs within competence and verify operation before return.
• Document results and communicate findings to customers and internal teams.
• Support sales and warehouse teams to ensure timely information and assistance.
• Pack orders during busy periods and help where needed.
