Job summary

Computerworld Personnel Ltd. is seeking a Technical Support Engineer in Milton Keynes for a role focused on supporting automation products across Europe. You will diagnose faults, assist with PLC integration, and provide hands-on programming and testing of PLC-based systems.

The position offers 47k salary, Monday–Friday days, and extensive professional development within a global engineering environment.

Qualifications

  • HNC, HND or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Controls, Mechatronics or a related discipline.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to teams across Europe.
  • Assist with integration of automation products into PLC and control systems.
  • Diagnose product, electrical and communication faults.
  • Set up, program and test PLC-based automation systems.
  • Work with industrial communication networks and fieldbus technologies.
  • Recreate customer issues in a test environment to identify root causes.
  • Produce technical reports, user guides and engineering documentation.
  • Deliver technical training sessions to customers and internal teams.
  • Support technical meetings, customer visits and industry exhibitions across Europe.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Providing technical support to teams across Europe
  • Supporting customers with the integration of automation products into PLC and control systems
  • Diagnosing product, electrical and communication faults
  • Setting up, programming and testing PLC-based automation systems
  • Working with industrial communication networks and fieldbus technologies
  • Recreating customer issues within a test environment to identify root causes
  • Testing and validating new and existing automation products
  • Producing technical reports, user guides and engineering documentation
  • Delivering technical training sessions to customers and internal teams
  • Supporting technical meetings, customer visits and industry exhibitions across Europe
What We're Looking For
  • Automation Engineer, Controls Engineer, PLC Engineer, Applications Engineer, Technical Support Engineer or similar
  • Understanding of PLC programming, ideally Ladder Logic or Structured Text
  • Knowledge of industrial automation systems and communication networks
  • Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding abilities

  • HNC, HND or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Controls, Mechatronics or a related engineering discipline
  • Candidates with approximately 1 year's industry experience are encouraged to apply
