Internal Technical Sales Engineer - Industrial Electrical Control & Automation

Our client requires an Internal Sales Engineer with experience in Electrical Control and Automation to provide sales and technical support to external customers, develop and maintain customer relationships, and promote products and services to maximize sales opportunities.
The candidate is likely to reside in the North of the Tyne area, including North Shields, Whitley Bay, Wallsend, Longbenton, Jesmond, Cramlington, and Blyth, to facilitate commuting. Knowledge of a wide range of electrical market-related products is essential, with strengths in more than one product area preferred.
This role covers industrial electrical, control & automation, factory automation, process control, including control gear, switchgear, automation equipment, variable speed drives, PLC, HMI, instrumentation, cable management systems, connection systems, industrial data communications, enclosures, sensors, and possibly ATEX equipment.
As an Internal Sales Engineer, you will handle all product technical inquiries, with training provided to understand and familiarize yourself with the full product range. You should be able to offer alternatives and advise on product selection. Collaboration with Field Sales Engineers and other staff is essential to achieve branch objectives and sales performance. In a small team environment, engagement in other duties is expected.
Commercial awareness is required to generate quotations and judge the competitive situation to win orders while maintaining profitability. Technical electrical knowledge is necessary, with flexibility on qualifications if the candidate demonstrates relevant knowledge, product application understanding, and commercial awareness.
The ideal candidate may currently be an internal sales engineer, technical support engineer, electrical engineer transitioning into a commercial role, or a graduate engineer with customer service experience seeking to develop a career in technical sales.
