Job Title: Technical Support Engineer

Reports To: Technical Support Manager
Purpose of Role:

The Technical Support Engineer provides support across various departments, including Sales, Service, and Production. Responsibilities include site visits, troubleshooting customer issues over the phone, supporting new product development, providing hands-on technical support in the factory, electrical design work, and supporting continuous improvement projects. The role involves ensuring designs comply with standards and meet client specifications through factory quality checks.

Responsibilities:
  1. Assist sales teams with technical solutions via ticketing system.
  2. Support onsite service team with technical queries and unit specifications.
  3. Conduct site visits to investigate issues or advise on technical problems.
  4. Lead mini continuous improvement projects.
  5. Support manufacturing with technical problems and liaise with stakeholders to resolve issues, prioritizing customer satisfaction.
  6. Assist purchasing with technical product queries.
  7. Coordinate with suppliers and other departments.
  8. Contribute to creating O&M manuals, datasheets, and installation guides.
  9. Guide CAD technicians on technical drawings and support their queries.
  10. Prepare technical opinions and reports for customer disputes.
Knowledge:
  • Pumping and hydraulics
  • Variable speed drives and pump controllers
  • HVAC and mechanical/electrical building services
  • Water systems (hot, cold, foul, surface)
  • Domestic and commercial plumbing
  • Monitoring and control systems
Skills:
  • Practical hands-on experience (advantageous)
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and customer expectations
