Job summary

Handley James is seeking an experienced Technical Support Engineer to support product development and customer solutions. The role involves collaborating with production, sales and internal teams to design and manufacture effectively.

You will develop, test, and continuously improve products, contribute to R&D, and produce engineering drawings and BOMs, while providing direct technical support to customers.

We have been retained to engage an experienced, proactive and customer focused Technical Support Engineer.

Your main responsibilities will include:

• Supporting the development, testing and continuous improvement of new and existing products.
• Contributing to research and development and new product development projects.
• Producing and maintaining engineering drawings, drawing packs and bills of materials.
• Working cross functionally with production, sales and other internal teams to ensure products are designed and manufactured effectively.
• Providing technical support to customers
• Working directly with customers to understand their needs and recommend solutions.

You will ideally hold a minimum of a HND in engineering or a related discipline, with previous experience in a product or manufacturing environment. Experience in sheet metal fabrication, technical support, product development or Solid Edge would be advantageous, although technical aptitude, a positive attitude and willingness to learn are equally important.

You will be a proactive, organised and personable, confident working with customers and colleagues at all levels.
