Job description

The key function is to support NHS Property Services in delivering building services maintenance and repairs across the NHS to ensure buildings are maintained to the highest standards and to provide a safe and secure environment for staff and customers.

Main duties of the job

Ensures compliance with all processes, procedures, and policies that meet organisational standards, including but not limited to our Health & Safety Policy, HTMS (Health Technical Memoranda), and SFG20. Implements new standards and leads change to manage continual improvement. Conducts quality audits of works to ensure organisational standards are met and maintained, taking corrective action when required. Undertakes toolbox talks and leads health & safety compliance across teams. Meets with customers and contractors to ensure works are delivered to organisational standards and resolves first-line customer complaints or escalates to the line manager with recommendations for corrective action.

Job responsibilities

We have an opportunity for a Technical Services Supervisor based in London - 10 South Colonnade Canary Wharf. This is a permanent, full-time role working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8 am to 4:30 pm. The salary starts from £47,000 (depending on experience) plus on-call allowance. The role covers North London and requires a driving license and comfort with using technological devices to log jobs. On-call availability and industry experience are desirable, along with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. DBS and DVLA checks are required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with NHSPS Health, Safety & Wellbeing Policies, technical guidance, statutory regulations, and HTMs.
  • Implement new standards and lead change for continual improvement.
  • Conduct quality audits and lead health & safety compliance initiatives.
  • Manage colleagues and tasks across disciplines as needed.
  • Meet with customers and contractors to ensure standards are met and address complaints.
  • Supervise the building services team, manage maintenance services, and ensure operational standards.
  • Maintain and update the Master Asset Database (CAFM) and site log books.

Person Specification
Qualifications
  • Specialist knowledge through experience or qualification

Experience
  • Managing or supervising a maintenance team within a building environment
  • Managing people activities such as disciplinary and absence management
  • Working with method statements or permit to work
  • Maintaining services to SFG20 standards
