Job summary

Informed Recruitment Limited is recruiting for a Technical Services Officer in Birmingham. This role supports the technical team to facilitate operational procurements, reviews of specifications, and the development of technical documentation.

You will engage stakeholders, scrutinise tenders, and contribute to cost estimation, reporting, and compliance with health and safety standards. The position is hybrid with regular office presence in Birmingham.

Qualifications

• Previous operational and technical experience within Social Housing or a consultancy supplying the sector.
• Experience covering property asset management, technical services and specifications, property management, decent homes and/or property defects/remediation.
• Project coordination/management and technical specification development.
• Understanding of CDM and Health & Safety regulations.
• Good cost management and ability to achieve best value.

Responsibilities

• Review technical specifications to meet operational requirements.
• Research to support development of technical specifications.
• Maintain core specification documentation and benchmark pricing register.
• Engage with stakeholders and scrutinise tender submissions.
• Conduct quality checks and evaluate proposals.
• Prepare cost estimations and reporting.
• Communicate internally and keep up to date with sector developments and legislation.
