Job summary

CMbE CarnaudMetalbox Engineering is seeking a Technical Sales Support Engineer to join our Shipley, Bradford site. You will support the sales team with technical guidance, develop quotations, and ensure accurate sales literature while identifying upgrade opportunities.

The ideal candidate holds an NVQ Level 3 in Engineering, can read engineering drawings, and communicates clearly. Travel up to 50 days per year, including international journeys, is expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum NVQ Level 3 in an Engineering discipline with ability to read engineering drawings.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; proficient in MS Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Organised, capable of prioritising workload and working independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to the sales function and act as a key contact for customers.
• Produce timely equipment quotations and maintain accurate sales literature.
• Identify opportunities for upgrades, enhancements and aftermarket sales.
• Attend technical review meetings and conduct machine audits.
• Drive improvements in project management and strengthen Sales–Technical collaboration.
• Enhance document control practices for consistency and efficiency.

They will work closely with customers, Engineering, Sales, and Marketing teams to gather technical requirements, produce timely equipment quotations, maintain accurate sales literature, and identify opportunities for upgrades, enhancements, and aftermarket sales.The role also includes attending technical review meetings and conducting machine audits. In addition, they will drive improvements in project management by strengthening collaboration, processes, and systems between Sales and Technical teams, while enhancing document control practices to ensure consistency, accuracy, and efficiency across both functions.About youThe ideal candidate will hold a minimum of an NVQ L3 in an Engineering discipline, with a strong technical or engineering background. They will have the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.They will possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, be proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint, and be able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Strong organisational skills, the ability to prioritise workloads, and a customer-focused approach are essential.
