Job summary

CMbE is hiring Electrical Assembly Engineers for a 12-month fixed-term contract at Wortley, Leeds. You will produce, fit and test OEM-quality electrical assemblies, wiring, and control panels.

You will adhere to safety standards and quality procedures, reporting hazards and maintaining clean, organized work areas. Ideal candidates have 2+ years in Electrical Assembly of OEM machinery, with a Level 3 Electrical Engineering apprenticeship or equivalent, and the ability to work autonomously while

Qualifications

  • Experience with Electrical Assembly and testing of OEM machinery.
  • Ability to read complex electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
  • Knowledge of electrical safe systems of work and testing procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Produce, fit and test OEM-quality electrical assemblies on machines.
  • Wire and connect electrical systems and control panels to spec.
  • Identify and report hazards; maintain 6S standards; perform pit-stop clean-ups.
  • Prioritise workload, work autonomously, and demonstrate strong problem-solving skills.

We have a new vacancy for Electrical Assembly Engineers to be based at our site in Wortley, Leeds on a 12-month fixed term contract.

Your mission in CMbE

The successful candidates will be responsible for producing, fitting and testing Original Equipment Manufacturer quality on machines. They will be working on electrical wiring and associated assemblies to ensure that they are safe, uniformed and compliant with required standards.

The ideal candidates will have good knowledge of Electrical Assembly and testing of large equipment to meet customer requirements. Candidates should have experience working with complex schematic drawings and control panel assembly and connections.

Additionally, the candidate should be proactive in reporting any hazards that may cause harm to yourself or colleagues and ensuring that the working area is kept to the company's 6's standards. They will conduct scheduled cleaning pit-stops efficiently and elevate any issues related to tooling, drawings, routings, or machine faults.

About you

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 2 years' experience within Electrical Assembly and testing of Original Equipment Manufacturer machinery (OEM). The candidate must hold a minimum of a level 3 apprenticeship in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.

To excel in this role, candidates should be able to demonstrate their knowledge in using Quality systems and procedures including electrical safe systems of work and testing procedures.

The ideal candidate must be able to prioritise workload whilst remaining calm under pressure. The candidate will have strong problem-solving, mechanical and technical skills and possess the ability to work autonomously.

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate a high quality of work, adaptability, make sound judgements and take initiative.
