Technical Sales Manager - Water Sector

Salary: Up to £50,000 per year (£60,000 OTE)

Bonus: Up to 20% company-wide bonus

Additional Benefits: Company car, 4.5-day working week (early Friday finish)

Our client is a well-established UK-based manufacturer of water storage systems. They are seeking a Technical Sales Manager with strong connections within the UK water and wastewater utilities sector. The focus is on above-ground water tanks, working with major UK water companies and contractors. The goal is to lead growth, foster relationships, and secure new contracts.

With a robust engineering and technical team in place, the company is now looking for someone to lead on growth, relationships, and winning new projects.

About the role
  1. Taking full ownership of the sales process from lead generation to project completion.
  2. Focusing on new business development and project-based work with UK water companies and contractors.
  3. Maintaining and expanding relationships with key accounts.
  4. This is a field-based role with regular UK travel, including customer visits and on-site meetings.
  5. Collaborating with internal teams to develop technical solutions ensuring high standards of delivery.
  6. Playing a key role in building out a commercial and technical team within the division, including advising on future hires.
  7. Opportunities for long-term growth into a director position.
About you
  • You have a technical sales background in the water or wastewater industry.
  • You are well connected within the UK water industry.
  • You possess a strong understanding of water utilities and their supply chains.
  • You are comfortable driving new business and managing complex, multi-stage projects.
  • You are familiar with key industry players and processes.
  • A full UK driving licence is required.
  • Ideally, you are within a commutable distance to Essex, but this is not essential.
