Equation Recruitment Ltd is seeking a commercially minded Sales Estimator for a pivotal role. You will own the estimating process from initial enquiry through tender submission, review customer requirements, perform material take-offs, design pipework routes, and produce accurate, competitive quotations.

You will also develop and maintain relationships with existing and prospective customers, follow up quotes, negotiate terms and coordinate with suppliers and the Bid Director to secure orders

Qualifikationen

• Experience in a sales estimating, estimating, technical sales or commercial role.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and project requirements.
• Confidence in preparing accurate quotations, estimates and tender submissions.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills.
• Proactive, commercially focused approach to identifying and winning business.
• Ability to manage multiple enquiries and deadlines effectively.
• Good IT skills and experience with estimating software and computer-based systems.
• Professional, organised and customer-focused attitude.
• Experience in pipework, mechanical services, plumbing, construction or related engineering sectors is advantageous.

Aufgaben

• Prepare accurate, competitive estimates and tenders within deadlines.
• Review customer enquiries, technical specifications, drawings and project requirements to establish the full scope of works.
• Carry out detailed material take-offs from tender drawings.
• Design pipework routes in accordance with manufacturers' recommendations and industry guidelines.
• Undertake site surveys and visits where required.
• Produce detailed quotations using the company's bespoke estimating software.
• Prepare and issue professional quotation letters and technical submittals.
• Assist with the completion of PQQs and tender documentation.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective customers.
• Identify opportunities to increase sales and maximise order potential.
• Follow up submitted quotations to establish feedback, assess competitiveness and identify opportunities to secure orders.
• Negotiate quotation prices with customers to achieve commercially successful outcomes.
• Arrange business development meetings, site surveys and tender review meetings with directors.
• Provide customers with technical information, product literature, brochures and supporting documentation.
• Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive prices, negotiate costs and terms.
• Check product availability and resolve supplier-related issues.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date enquiry, customer, supplier and pricing records.
• Respond to technical and product enquiries with knowledge and professionalism.
