Job summary

Omega Resource Group in Cirencester is recruiting a Junior Sales Engineer to blend engineering know‑how with customer‑facing sales support, from concept through to delivery. This engineering‑first role emphasizes technical problem solving over high‑pressure selling.

You will serve as the internal technical contact, prepare quotations, interpret drawings, and collaborate with design, systems, and applications engineers to tailor bespoke solutions and ensure customer success.

Qualifications

• Apprenticeship, HNC/HND, or degree in Mechanical Engineering or related.
• Experience or interest in process automation, control systems, or industrial equipment.
• Comfort interpreting technical drawings, specifications and documentation.
• Experience in technical sales, applications engineering or customer-facing roles desirable.
• Strong problem‑solving and ability to explain technical concepts clearly.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the technical sales process in your region and ensure solutions are engineered and compliant.
• Serve as the internal technical contact, advising on product selection and configuration.
• Prepare detailed, technically accurate quotations and process orders.
• Collaborate with design, systems, and applications engineers on bespoke solutions.
• Analyse requirements and drawings to resolve technical queries.
• Develop deep knowledge of product capabilities and industry applications.
• Support Area Sales Managers during meetings, site visits and demonstrations.
• Identify opportunities for design or component enhancements to add value.
• Maintain technical documentation and project data in CRM systems.
• Share learnings to improve products and internal processes.
