GroAqua, based in Inverness, is hiring a desk-based engineer to design and cost aquaculture systems. You will work with our Sales Team, select equipment, design solutions with our partners, and prepare the documentation that defines scope and responsibilities for each project.
You will price early, maintain detailed costings, and produce drawings and P&IDs. You’ll interact with customers and suppliers on technical questions and observe installations of your designs on farms.

Contract: Full time, permanent
Hours: Monday to Friday
Sector: Engineering, Aquaculture, Sales
GroAqua helps fish farmers grow healthy fish, on sea sites and on land. We design and supply the
systems that keep a modern farm running: feed barges, feeders and cameras, oxygen generation and
water treatment, fish handling, and the digital monitoring that ties it all together. From offices in
Inverness, Fort William and Stornoway, as well as Norway and the Faroe Islands, we work with the
biggest names in aquaculture.
When a customer asks us whether something can be done, this is the person who works out the
answer.
You will take an enquiry from our Sales Team, select the equipment, design the system with our
manufacturing partners, cost it, and set out clearly what we are supplying and what the customer is
responsible for. You will then produce the drawings, schedules and scope documents the project is
built from.
It is a desk-based engineering job. The quotations you price are the ones we live with, so the work
needs to be right and it needs to be written down properly. You will deal directly with customers and
suppliers on technical questions, and you will see your designs installed on working farms.
No two enquiries are the same. One week it is oxygenation for a freshwater site, the next it is water
treatment for a hatchery or a fish handling system for a wellboat.
