West Highland Chamber is seeking a Field Service Engineer based in Fort William. This hands-on engineering role involves traveling to customer sites to service, maintain, install, and commission aquaculture systems. The position offers a competitive salary between £35,000 and £40,000 plus overtime, company vehicle, and benefits including private healthcare and training opportunities. Flexible working options are considered.

Qualifications

• Good IT and fault-finding skills.
• Full UK driving licence required.

The Role – Field Service Engineer

This is a hands‑on, varied, and well‑paid engineering role where no two days are the same.

• Travel to customer sites to service, maintain, install and commission ScaleAQ systems
• Diagnose and repair equipment including motors, gearboxes, drives, sensors, and PLC systems
• Carry out workshop repairs at our Fort William base
• Provide technical advice and support to customers
• Complete electronic job sheets, risk assessments, and reports
• Full product training provided

Who We are Looking For

• Aquaculture
• Marine or offshore
• Industrial maintenance
• Manufacturing, automation, or plant engineering

You will have

• Mechanical and/or electrical engineering experience
• Knowledge of motors, gearboxes, drives, sensors, or PLCs
• Good IT and fault‑finding skills
• A full UK driving licence
• A flexible, problem‑solving mindset and strong communication skills

Travel & On-Call

• Mainland Scotland
• Orkney
• Western Isles
• Ireland

Some short‑notice travel is required, and you will join a weekend on‑call rota (with extra pay).
