Job summary

Coats Recruitment Limited in Stourport-on-Severn is seeking a technically minded and commercially driven Technical Sales Engineer. You will manage customer enquiries, provide technical advice and develop competitive solutions to meet client needs.

Working with engineering and production teams, you will convert enquiries into profitable orders, prepare quotations and tender submissions, and support customers from enquiry to order completion.

• Proficiency in CAD software, with the ability to create and amend technical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Manage incoming enquiries and convert sales opportunities into profitable orders.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers.
• Prepare accurate quotations, proposals and tender submissions.
• Interpret customer requirements and develop suitable technical solutions.
• Create and amend technical drawings and layouts using CAD software.
• Work closely with engineering and production teams to ensure customer requirements are understood and delivered accurately.
• Follow up quotations promptly to maximise sales opportunities.
• Provide technical support and product guidance, covering mechanical and electrical applications where required.
• Ensure orders are processed efficiently, with accurate information passed to the relevant departments.
• Keep customers informed of order progress and resolve any issues promptly.
• Maintain accurate records of enquiries, quotations, orders and customer activity using CRM software.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities.
• Undertake occasional customer and site visits as required.

Hours: Monday-Thursday, 7:30am-4:00pm; Friday, 7:30am-1:00pm

This is a varied role combining technical sales, customer relationship management and business development. You will work with new and existing customers to understand their requirements, provide technical advice and develop competitive solutions to meet their needs.

Working closely with engineering and production teams, you will help turn customer enquiries into profitable orders, ensuring requirements are clearly communicated from initial enquiry through to order completion.

Working Hours

• Monday to Thursday: 7:30am-4:00pm, with a 30-minute lunch break.
