Job summary

Mercury Hampton Ltd in the United Kingdom is seeking a technically minded Technical Sales Engineer to support customers from our Loughborough base. You will evaluate enquiries, prepare accurate technical and commercial quotations for valve products and related services, and liaise with engineering, production and supply chain to ensure orders are fulfilled.

This is a full-time role with ongoing training and career development in a globally respected manufacturer.

Qualifications

• Experience in quotation, technical sales or bid support within engineering.
• Ability to interpret technical specifications and customer requirements.
• Knowledge of valves, flow control products, pumps or industrial equipment advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate customer enquiries and prepare accurate technical and commercial quotations for valve products and services.
• Review customer specifications and select suitable products for quotations.
• Prepare quotations and manage follow-up activities to convert enquiries into orders.
• Liaise with engineering, production and supply chain to ensure requirements are understood and delivered.
• Support customers with high standards of service and technical support.

Due to continued growth, they are now looking to recruit a Sales Engineer to join their established team in Loughborough. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically minded individual looking to develop your career within a highly respected engineering environment, supporting customers with tailored valve solutions and commercially competitive quotations.

You will be responsible for evaluating customer enquiries and preparing accurate technical and commercial quotations for valve products and associated services. Working closely with customers, external sales teams and internal departments, you will ensure enquiries are processed efficiently while delivering the highest standards of service and technical support.

The role will involve reviewing customer specifications, selecting suitable products, preparing quotations, managing follow-up activities and supporting the conversion of enquiries into orders. You will also liaise with engineering, production and supply chain teams to ensure customer requirements are fully understood and delivered successfully.

Working within a collaborative and supportive team environment, you will play a key role in maintaining customer satisfaction and contributing to the ongoing success of the business while developing your own technical and commercial expertise.

The Candidate

• Previous experience within a Quotation, Technical Sales, Bid, Internal Sales, Tendering or Customer Sales support role within engineering
• Ability to interpret technical specifications and customer requirements
• Knowledge of valves, flow control products, pumps or industrial engineering equipment would be advantageous
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Commercial awareness and a customer-focused approach
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
• Ability to manage multiple enquiries and deadlines effectively
• Experience using ERP systems such as SAP would be beneficial
• Team player with the ability to work independently when required
