Job summary

Witan Search is seeking an experienced Technical Sales Engineer to cover the North East England region. You will develop sales, support customers and distributors, identify new business opportunities and improve productivity for clients.

You will build strong relationships, work from technical drawings and demonstrate ROI benefits while managing key accounts with autonomy across your territory.

Qualifications

• Solid experience with machine tools and setup/programming.
• Experience reading technical drawings and applying them to sales.
• Previous technical sales or customer-facing engineering roles.
• Strong relationship-building and communication skills.
• Proactive and self-motivated with good sales technique knowledge.
• Proficient with Office 365, Excel, PowerPoint and CRM systems.
• CAD/CAM experience is preferred.
• Full UK driving licence is essential.

Job Type: Full-time

We are recruiting for an experienced Technical Sales Engineer to cover the North East of England, developing sales, supporting customers and distributors, and identifying new business opportunities.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer with strong knowledge of machine tools, machining processes and technical sales who enjoys working directly with customers and helping them improve productivity and reduce costs.

The Role

You will be responsible for developing business across the region, growing market share and building long-term relationships with customers and distribution partners.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop sales and increase market share across the North East.
• Build and maintain strong customer and distributor relationships.
• Identify and develop new customer opportunities.
• Provide technical support and respond to customer enquiries.
• Conduct cutting tool tests at customer sites to optimise production.

• Manage your own territory and priorities with a high degree of autonomy.

About You

You should have:

• Solid experience working with machine tools, including programming and/or setting.
• Experience working from technical drawings.
• Previous technical sales or customer-facing engineering experience.
• Strong relationship-building and communication skills.
• A proactive, self-motivated approach.
• Good understanding of sales techniques.
• Experience with Office 365, Excel, PowerPoint and CRM systems.
• CAD/CAM experience is preferred.
• A full UK driving licence.

Qualifications & Experience

• Advanced Apprenticeship or equivalent engineering qualification.
• HND or equivalent preferred/minimum.
• Ideally 5+ years' experience as a skilled engineer.
