Job summary

Rise Technical Recruitment Ltd are partnering with a well-established engineering business in Swindon to recruit a Technical Sales & Development Engineer. This office-based role includes hands-on testing, CAD work, data analysis and close collaboration with the MD and engineering team.

You will gain extensive product knowledge, support product development and progress within a growing technical function, with occasional international travel and clear progression opportunities.

Qualifications

• Degree-qualified Electrical Engineering or Physics (or similar).
• Good communication with customers and colleagues.
• Able to travel occasionally and drive to client sites.

Technical Sales & Development Engineer

Swindon, Office-based with some travel

£50,000 - £60,000 + Training + Technical Progression + Development + 25 Days Holiday + Pension

Are you an Electrical Engineer, Engineering Technologist or similar looking for a technically varied role where you can develop into a key technical resource within a growing business?

On offer is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established business, where you will receive hands-on training, develop extensive product knowledge and take increasing ownership across product development, testing, technical problem-solving and customer support.

The company has almost 30 years of experience producing specialist fibre optic connectivity products for critical energy transmission infrastructure and has recently been acquired by a FTSE 250-listed international group. As part of continued investment and long-term succession planning, they are now looking to strengthen their technical function with a Technical Sales & Development Engineer.

This is a highly varied role, working closely with the Managing Director and wider team. You will support the development and improvement of products, carry out hands-on testing and diagnostics, use CAD and technical data to solve engineering problems, and provide technical support to customers and suppliers

This role would suit an Electrical Engineering background with a strong technical mindset, looking for training, technical progression and increasing responsibility within a close-knit team.

The Role:

• Office-based technical role supporting product development and engineering improvement
• Hands-on testing and diagnostics using test equipment and data analysis
• CAD work and technical documentation to support new and existing products
• Working closely with the MD and engineering team, developing deep product knowledge
• Occasional international travel when required

The Person:

• Degree qualified Electrical Engineering or Physics (or similar)
• AutoCAD Experience
• Happy communicating with customers/colleagues over the phone and in person
• Commutable distance from Swindon, with a full driving license
