Job summary

Ocean Infinity is seeking an experienced Delivery Manager to own and drive the delivery of complex cross‑team software programs, coordinating milestones with timelines and balancing time, quality and risk.

You will collaborate with IT, CyberSec, Data Platform and Robotics teams to define standards, translate objectives into actionable plans, and report progress to senior leadership. The role demands independence, seniority and a proven record in fast‑moving environments.

Qualifications

  • Significant experience in technical program or delivery management, including at senior or lead level, ideally within technology, engineering, or operationally complex environments.
  • Strong technical fluency. You engage credibly with engineers on delivery, dependencies and technical trade-offs, and know when to pull in senior engineers for deep design calls.
  • Proven track record owning large, complex, cross-functional programs end to end in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.
  • Strong at driving alignment and managing dependencies across separate organisations such as IT, security, data, and hardware or robotics teams.
  • Experience working with and coaching engineering managers and tech leads on delivery and ways of working.
  • Comfortable representing complex delivery trade-offs to senior leadership, clearly and concisely.
  • Skilled at translating high-level objectives into meaningful work for development teams.
  • Fluent with delivery tooling such as Jira, and able to self-manage your own tracking and reporting.
  • Brings structure and clarity to complex problems without over-engineering or adding unnecessary process.
  • Operates with a high degree of independence and accountability.

Responsibilities

  • Own and drive the delivery of the most complex, cross-team software programs against milestones, actively managing delivery against timelines and making trade-offs between time, quality and risk through each development cycle.
  • Define what good delivery looks like across the organisation: set the standards, cadences and success criteria, not just track them.
  • Keep delivery predictable.
  • When timelines slip, diagnose the root cause and drive it to resolution rather than just reporting status.
  • Work directly with engineering teams on ways of working, sprint health and delivery practices, surfacing risks and testing assumptions where complexity threatens delivery.
  • Drive alignment and manage dependencies with the IT, CyberSec, Data Platform, and Robotics & Autonomy organisations, keeping cross-organisation work moving and unblocking delivery that depends on them.
  • Drive the resolution of architecture and dependency decisions that block delivery, bringing the right senior engineers together to reach a clear call.
  • Translate high-level business objectives into clear, meaningful plans that development teams can act on.
  • Own the delivery of cross-team initiatives end to end, identifying dependencies, surfacing blockers early, and keeping programmes on track.
  • Coordinate planning cycles and periodic reviews with the Director of Software Engineering, and contribute to how the wider organisation plans and prioritises.
  • Run capacity and resource planning across the teams: understand strengths, spot gaps, and help put the right people on the right work.
  • Track and report on delivery and operational health to senior leadership, presenting risks, trade-offs and recommendations clearly and early.
  • Partner with and mentor engineering managers and tech leads, strengthening delivery practices and ways of working across their teams.
