Job summary

Ocean Infinity seeks a Senior Application Engineer to support internally developed software in a live production environment. You will report to the Head of Technology Support as part of a high-spec tech team and contribute to incident management, release monitoring and production stability.

Responsibilities

• Up to 3rd line support, resolving incidents and requests with internally developed software products.
• Providing feedback to internal development teams and driving improvements.
• Mentoring junior team members and reducing incident numbers and resolution times.
• Liaising between development and support during frequent software releases.
• Managing tickets to meet response and resolution SLAs.
• Participating in 24x7 on-call support.

Ocean Infinity is seeking aSenior Application Engineersupporting internally developed Software in a live production environment. This role reports directly to the Head of Technology Support as part of a larger team supporting an innovative and highspec Tech environment.

What you will do!

• Up to 3rdline support, resolvingincidentsand requestswithinternally developedsoftwareproductsandfollowing up with detailedroot cause analysis;
• Providing structured feedback tothe internaldevelopment teams,identifyingissuesand driving improvements through real‑world insights;
• Mentoring generalist IT team membersand working as a key contributor, and participant,toinitiatives reducing the number of incidents, average resolutiontimeand other reliability metrics;
• Working closelyas a liaison betweendevelopment and support teams tomonitorand support frequent software releases as they move from development into production;
• Managing tickets to ensure response and resolutionSLA’sare met;
• Managinghigh prioritytickets frominceptionto resolution,communicating with usersIncident management
• Participate in 24x7on-call support process.

What we look for!

• Strong background in 2nd/3rd Line Engineering, with a focus on coaching, mentoring, and supporting junior team members.
• Experienceworking withinternally developed Softwarein production environmentsandsupportingdevelopment teams eitheras a developer,senior QAEngineeror DevOps role;
• Proficiency working in Linux-based environments with Docker, containerised applications, and shell scripting using PowerShell and Bash.
• Experience working with programming languages and frameworks such asJavaScript, Typescript and React; Python and/or C#;
• Working knowledge of observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana or Kibana to diagnose issuesand interrogate software products;
• Good understanding and experience of ticketing systems, such as ServiceNow, Zendesk and ServiceDesk Plus;
• A can‑do attitude with a willingness to solve problems even if occasionally they may be considered “out of scope” for the role;
• Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritise work in a fast‑paced environment;
• Effective verbal and written communication skills,to interpret requirements and present findings;
• Interested in others and strives to act in the best interests of the team.

Nice to have!

• At leasttwoyears of experience supportinginternally developed applicationsas a 2nd/3rdline engineer;
• At least five years ofexperienceworkingwithprogramminglanguages;
• Experience working withinan ITSM tool, adhering toITILframeworkincluding Incident Management,Problem Management and Change Management.

*Salary: £55,000 Per Annum*
