Manpower (United Kingdom) is seeking a Technical Production Operative for its Leeds (LS14) site. The role focuses on safe, efficient operation of production machinery and adherence to SOPs on a rotating 12-hour shift pattern.

You will conduct changeovers, support SMED improvements, manage materials to meet weekly demands, and participate in quality and environmental procedures, reporting findings across shifts.

Formación

• Minimum 3 GCSEs including English, Maths and Science or Engineering at Grade 4 or above.
• Experience operating machinery safely and following SOPs.
• Willingness to work 12-hour shifts including weekends and nights.

Responsabilidades

• Monitor quality and assist in investigations using Q-EWO.
• Follow environmental protocols to minimise waste and handle hazardous materials.
• Communicate across shifts with clear reports.

Technical Production Operative - Leeds (LS14)

Our client, a reputable leader in the industrial sector, is hiring for a dedicated Technical Production Operative to join their team in Leeds. This role is vital in ensuring the safe, efficient, and high-quality operation of machinery on site.

• Shifts: 12hours (7-7) Allocated on a weekly basis but generally by crew 2 Days - 2 Nights - 4 Off (Repeat) includes weekends but not bank holiday and there is a shutdown at Christmas.
• Training: The client is reviewing what the training plan will look like; this might initially be on Days Mon-Fri but equally could be 'on crew'
• Pay: £13.45 - £14.60, then £17.88 after 12 weeks

What you’ll be doing:

• Safely operate machinery following SOPs and instructions, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
• Conduct routine changeovers, start-up, and shutdown procedures, aiming for continuous improvement using SMED techniques.
• Manage materials in line with the production plan to meet weekly demands.
• Perform daily checks, adjustments, and defect tagging as part of the R2S process.
• Support problem-solving, root cause analysis, and participate in pit stops, pre-briefs, and de-briefs.
• Monitor quality standards, report issues, and assist in investigations using Q-EWO.
• Follow environmental protocols to minimise waste and handle hazardous materials correctly.
• Communicate effectively across shifts, providing clear reports and operational insights.

What you’ll bring:

• Competence in operating machinery safely and understanding SOPs.
• Basic knowledge of AM principles, machine adjustments, and digital tools.
• Experience in following safety, quality, and environmental procedures.
• Strong team player with good communication skills and a proactive attitude.
• Flexibility to support shift patterns and adapt to evolving technology.
• Minimum of 3 GCSEs, including English, Maths, and Science or Engineering, at Grade 4 (or equivalent) or above.

Successful candidates will be required to complete health screening including a drugs & alcohol test.
