Job summary

Barclays is seeking a Technical Product Owner to own Jira backlogs, user stories and sprint priorities within Agile teams, translating business needs into actionable backlog items and roadmaps.

You will collaborate across data governance, analytics and engineering to deliver data products, platform modernisation and cloud-driven transformations, with a hybrid model based in Knutsford or Northampton requiring at least 3 days in the office.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience owning and prioritising Jira backlogs, user stories and sprint priorities.
• Experience contributing to product roadmaps and delivery plans within Agile delivery teams.
• Translate business problems, data consumption needs and change impacts into clear requirements, features and backlog items.
• Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration.
• Knowledge of data platforms, cloud and analytics environments.
• Experience with data-centric transformation, platform modernisation or migration.
• Experience migrating workloads from legacy platforms to cloud-based environments.
• Identify and manage dependencies across teams while balancing priorities and constraints.
• Understanding of data governance, data quality, security and privacy requirements.
• Experience defining and measuring business outcomes and product adoption.

Responsibilities

• Provide subject matter expertise to support collaboration between the product owner and the technical side of product development.
• Support the development and implementation of the product strategy and vision defined in the product roadmap and communicate them with stakeholders and the development team.
• Gather and prioritise product requirements and features based on value and feasibility that are well defined, measurable and secure.
• Develop and implement assessments to ensure continuous testing and improvement of product quality and performance.
• Monitor product performance to identify opportunities for optimisation that meets Barclays' standards.
• Stay abreast of the latest industry technology trends to evaluate and adopt new approaches to improve product development and delivery.
