Job summary

Slaughter and May is seeking an Application Engineer to join the Business Systems team. The role combines deep technical expertise with product ownership across a portfolio of business-critical applications, including document management and finance tools.

You will collaborate with business users, technology colleagues and external vendors to ensure reliability, security and alignment with evolving needs. The role involves agile delivery, application management and a proactive approach to risk

Qualifications

• Deep technical expertise in at least one discipline directly applicable to the team (AIS/REST APIs, SQL, Power Platform or Fabric).
• Experience with managing and supporting business-critical applications in a professional services environment.

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical product owner for assigned applications and align with roadmap and user needs.
• Maintain and prioritise product backlog with new features, maintenance tasks and security updates.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate requirements into practical changes and enhancements.
• Lead agile ceremonies and participate in sprint planning and retrospectives.
• Manage configuration, deployment and ongoing support of applications.
• Troubleshoot complex issues and coordinate with vendors when needed.
• Manage vendor relationships and monitor service levels and enhancements.
• Monitor usage and performance and document changes and procedures.
• Identify and mitigate risks, participate in audits and business continuity planning.
