Job summary

Ceto Talent seeks a Technical Procurement Manager to lead the procurement of major mechanical and electrical equipment for a major UK gas infrastructure project. The role is based near Warrington with hybrid working options and a permanent contract or a contractor arrangement.

You will collaborate with engineering and project teams to ensure technical compliance, lead supplier evaluations, and drive procurement schedules in line with overall delivery plans.

Qualifications

• Technical procurement experience in gas/oil & gas, energy, EPC or major infrastructure.
• Experience procuring mechanical equipment and engineered packages.
• Strong ability to read technical specifications and engineering documents.
• Experience collaborating with engineering and project teams.
• Gas transmission or rotating equipment experience advantageous.

Technical Procurement Manager - Major UK Energy Infrastructure Project

• Location: Near Warrington / Hybrid working available
• Employment: Permanent | Contractors will also be considered

Ceto Talent is recruiting a Technical Procurement Manager to support a major gas infrastructure upgrade project forming part of a critical UK energy infrastructure upgrade.

We are working with the Principal Designer and delivery partner on the project, which is currently in the design and procurement phase and is expected to move into construction during 2027.

This is a technically focused procurement role, working closely with engineering, project and supply chain teams to manage the procurement of major mechanical and electrical equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage procurement of major engineered equipment and mechanical packages
• Procure equipment including compressors, valves, generators, engines and associated systems
• Work closely with engineering teams to understand technical specifications and project requirements
• Manage technical and commercial supplier evaluations
• Develop and manage procurement schedules aligned with project delivery

Experience Required

• Strong technical procurement experience within gas, oil & gas, energy, EPC or major infrastructure with similar components
• Experience procuring mechanical equipment and engineered packages
• Good understanding of technical specifications and engineering documentation
• Experience working closely with engineering and project teams
• Gas transmission, compressor station or rotating equipment experience would be highly advantageous
