The Role

We are seeking a Pre-Sales Technical Engineer based in the North West to collaborate with integrators, distribution partners, and end users. The role involves creating and supporting new opportunities and internal projects, ensuring issues are resolved promptly and professionally. The ideal candidate is a team player who upholds Hikvision’s business reputation and contributes to sustained growth.

The main responsibilities include:

  • Engaging and supporting Hikvision’s internal staff, distribution partners, integrators, and end users to maximize the design, specification, and utilization of Hikvision products and solutions.
  • Providing technical support via phone, email, and internet regarding operational uses, issues, or projects related to the product line (installation, network, and related technology).
  • Offering on-site technical support within the UK and Ireland when required.
  • Identifying and supporting training and development needs within partners and customers through sales team requests and regular consultations.
  • Proactively scoping technical solutions to meet customer requirements, assessing needs, and recommending solutions that optimize value for both the customer and Hikvision.
  • Providing coaching and professional development to team members to enhance their product knowledge, technical skills, and sales capabilities.
  • Seeking additional business opportunities within partners and customers to increase the adoption of Hikvision products and solutions.
  • Collaborating with internal teams to ensure opportunities are understood, supported, and executed effectively.
  • Monitoring customer support activities and alerting sales and account teams to potential technical risks affecting deal closures.
  • Designing and expanding training programs based on organizational and individual needs.
  • Delivering demonstrations, training sessions, exhibitions, or roadshows related to Hikvision products and solutions.
  • Maintaining and updating the CRM system with accurate data on customers, projects, and support tickets.
  • Responding to technical inquiries about Hikvision products and solutions.
  • Supporting and resolving technical issues, liaising with colleagues locally and globally as needed.
  • Monitoring and reporting on technical support activities and providing management information when required.
  • Attending meetings with other company functions to support business and organizational development.
  • Participating in regular training to stay updated on market trends and product knowledge.

Skills:

The candidate should have:

  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in surveillance or access control roles.
  • Ability to prioritize issues promptly and identify options to improve quality and training processes.
  • Strong communication skills, including providing feedback and confirming understanding.
  • IT network design skills, knowledge, and experience.
  • IP CCTV system design skills, knowledge, and experience.
  • Analog CCTV system design skills, knowledge, and experience (desirable for existing systems and migration).
