Pre-Sales Technical Engineer (UK)

The Role

We are seeking a Pre-Sales Technical Engineer based in the North West to collaborate with integrators, distribution partners, and end users. The role involves creating and supporting new opportunities and internal projects, ensuring issues are resolved promptly and professionally. The ideal candidate will be a team player who maintains Hikvision’s business performance and reputation, contributing to sustained business growth.

The main responsibilities include:

  1. Engaging and supporting distribution partners’ integrators, specifying, and end users to maximize the design, specification, and utilization of Hikvision products and solutions.
  2. Providing technical support to partners and installers via phone, email, and internet regarding operational questions, issues, or projects related to the entire product line.
  3. Offering on-site technical support within the UK and Ireland as required.
  4. Identifying and supporting training and development needs within partners and customers through sales team requests and consultations.
  5. Proactively scoping technical solutions to meet customer requirements, assessing needs, and recommending optimal solutions that add value for both the customer and Hikvision.
  6. Providing coaching and professional development to team members to enhance their product knowledge, technical skills, and sales capabilities.
  7. Seeking additional business opportunities within partners and customers to increase the use of Hikvision products and solutions.
  8. Collaborating internally to ensure opportunities are well understood, supported, and executed.
  9. Monitoring customer support throughout the sales process and alerting sales and account teams to potential technical risks that could impact deal closure.
  10. Assisting in designing and expanding training programs based on organizational and individual needs.
  11. Delivering and supporting demonstrations, training sessions, exhibitions, or roadshows related to Hikvision products and solutions.
  12. Maintaining and developing the CRM system to ensure all customer, project, and support data is accurate and current.
  13. Responding to technical inquiries about Hikvision products and solutions.
  14. Supporting and resolving technical issues related to Hikvision products, liaising with colleagues locally and globally as needed.
  15. Monitoring and reporting on technical support activities and providing management with relevant information.
  16. Attending meetings with other company functions to support business and organizational development.
  17. Participating in regular training to stay updated on market trends and product knowledge.

Skills:

The candidate should have:

  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in surveillance or access control roles.
  • The ability to prioritize issues promptly and identify options to improve quality and training processes.
  • Strong communication skills to clearly provide feedback and confirm understanding.
  • IT network design knowledge and experience.
  • IP CCTV system design skills and experience.
  • Analog CCTV system design skills and experience, especially for existing systems and migration scenarios (desirable).
