The Role

We are looking for a Pre-Sales Technical Engineer based in the North West who can work with integrators, distribution partners, and end users to create and support new opportunities and internal projects, whilst ensuring issues are resolved in a timely and professional manner. The ideal candidate will be a team player who can uphold Hikvision’s business performance and reputation, contributing to sustained business growth.

The main responsibilities are as follows:

  • Work with Hikvision's internal staff to engage and support distribution partners’ integrators, specifies, and end users, focusing on maximizing the design, specification, and utilization of Hikvision products and solutions.
  • Provide technical support to distribution partners and installers via phone, email, and internet regarding operational uses, issues, or projects (installation, network, and related technology).
  • Offer on-site technical support to distribution partners and installers within the UK and Ireland as required.
  • Identify and support training and development needs within partners and customers through sales team requests and regular consultations.
  • Proactively scope technical solutions to meet customer requirements, assess unmet needs, and recommend solutions that optimize value for both the customer and Hikvision.
  • Provide coaching and professional development to team members to enhance their product knowledge, technical skills, and sales capabilities.
  • Identify and pursue additional business opportunities within partners and customers to increase the use of Hikvision products and solutions.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure opportunities are understood, supported, and executed effectively.
  • Monitor customer support activities related to technical solutions throughout the sales process and alert sales and account teams to potential risks affecting deal closure.
  • Assist in designing and expanding training and development programs based on organizational and individual needs.
  • Deliver and support product demonstrations, training sessions, exhibitions, or roadshows related to Hikvision products and solutions.
  • Maintain and develop the company's CRM system, ensuring all customer, project, and support data are accurate and current.
  • Respond to and follow up on technical inquiries regarding Hikvision products and solutions.
  • Support and resolve technical issues related to Hikvision products, liaising with colleagues locally and worldwide as necessary.
  • Monitor and report on technical support activities, providing relevant management information upon request.
  • Attend meetings with other company functions to support organizational development.
  • Participate in regular training to stay updated on market trends and product knowledge.

Skills:

You should have:

  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in surveillance or access control roles.
  • The ability to prioritize issues promptly and identify options for improving quality and training processes.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to provide feedback and confirm understanding.
  • IT network design skills, knowledge, and experience.
  • IP CCTV system design skills, knowledge, and experience.
  • Analog CCTV system design skills, knowledge, and experience—desirable for existing systems and migration.
