Job summary

THRUDARK LTD is seeking an Apparel Designer to create technical outdoor and sports garments, balancing aesthetics, construction and performance. You will collaborate with Product Development and Illustration to develop concepts, refine products through sampling and ensure design intent is met within deadlines.

The role requires a strong portfolio demonstrating design process and technical flats, plus experience in performance apparel. Hybrid working and kit/tech allowances are among the benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience designing technical, performance, outdoor or sports apparel.
• Portfolio showing your design process, technical drawings and finished garments.
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator to independently create detailed apparel technical flats.
• Solid understanding of garment construction, fabrics and trims and how design affects comfort and performance.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines while balancing creative ambition with commercial constraints.

Responsibilities

• Develop seasonal design concepts for outdoor and sports apparel in response to briefs.
• Create product sketches and accurate technical flats communicating silhouette and details.
• Research materials and design developments and translate findings into designs.
• Select fabrics, trims and colorways to support use, aesthetic and brief.
• Collaborate with Product Development to assess feasibility and resolve design challenges.
• Contribute to sample and fit reviews to refine proportions and details.
• Collaborate with Illustration to integrate artwork and branding into garments.
• Present ideas clearly and respond to feedback.
• Manage design assignments against seasonal deadlines and keep information up to date.
