Job summary

HR GO Group is recruiting a Technical Operator for our Bishop's Stortford site. You will repair machinery, perform fault finding, and support ongoing production in a fast-paced FMCG environment.

This role requires practical, hands-on problem solving, clear communication, and the ability to work collaboratively with engineering and production teams on day shifts (7am-7pm) on a 4 on/4 off pattern. Competitive salary and progression opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

  • Experience fixing machinery in a manufacturing or FMCG setting.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced production environment and follow SOPs.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to shift patterns and HACCP/H&S checks.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out mechanical fault finding, repairs and adjustments.
  • Support line set-ups and changeovers.
  • Respond quickly to breakdowns and production issues.
  • Support PPM and work with the Engineering team.
  • Help identify ways to improve efficiency and reduce downtime.
  • Complete quality, hygiene, HACCP and H&S checks.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and lead by example.
  • Help support and coach other operators.

Manufacturing and Production Bishop's Stortford, Hertfordshire £33650 per annum Permanent

Are you mechanically minded, great at fixing problems and looking for your next opportunity with a well-established food manufacturer?

We're looking for a Technical Operator who enjoys getting stuck in, solving problems and keeping production running smoothly. If you have experience fixing machinery, fault finding or working in a fast-paced production environment, we'd love to hear from you.

Day Shifts: 4 on/4 off 7am - 7pm

What you'll be doing

  • Carry out mechanical fault finding, repairs and adjustments
  • Support line set-ups and changeovers
  • Respond quickly to breakdowns and production issues
  • Support PPM and work alongside the Engineering team
  • Help identify ways to improve efficiency and reduce downtime
  • Complete quality, hygiene, HACCP and H&S checks

What we're looking for

We're looking for a Technical Operator who is:

  • Confident fixing machinery and carrying out fault finding
  • Practical, hands-on and able to think calmly under pressure
  • A strong communicator who can work well across different teams
  • Comfortable taking ownership and showing leadership
  • Experienced in manufacturing, engineering or production - food/FMCG experience is desirable
