Job Title: Technical / Operations Manager

About the Role

Range Shipping is entering an exciting new phase of growth, transitioning from a traditional cargo operator into a full-service commercial vessel manager. As part of this evolution, we are seeking an experiencedTechnical / Operations Managerto join our London office and help drive the development and oversight of our technical operations.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the technical and operational performance of a small but growing fleet of Supramax - Panamax dry bulk vessels. This is a dynamic, hands-on role requiring strong leadership, technical knowledge, and commercial awareness.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the 3rd party technical management of two Supramax dry bulk vessels (with scope to expand as the fleet grows).
• Act as the main point of contact for daily vessel operations, maintaining regular communication with Captains, Port Agents, Charterers, and Brokers.
• Interpret and apply Charterparty terms to daily operations, ensuring voyages are executed efficiently and in compliance with contract terms.
• Prepare and issue freight and hire invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
• Perform laytime calculations and manage all related documentation.
• Handle operational disputes and claims, coordinating with P&I clubs and other stakeholders as required.
• Maintain vessel performance data and support continuous improvement initiatives across the fleet.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, safety standards, and environmental requirements.

Skills & Experience Required

• Proven experience in a Technical Manager or Superintendent role, ideally with dry bulk vessels.
• Strong understanding of vessel operations, technical management, and maritime regulations.
• Working knowledge of Charterparty contracts, laytime, demurrage, and claims management.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Strong communication skills and confidence liaising with both shore-based and vessel-based teams.
• Familiarity with working alongside 3rd party technical managers.
