Job description

We are now seeking a Technical Operations Manager to join our team at HMP Bronzefield. This role involves developing and proposing changes to enhance service delivery to customers of the SJS, Education, and Healthcare networks. As the Technical Services Manager, you will oversee the local IT team, supporting customers with Information, Communication, and Security Systems, and managing day-to-day operations.

Main Responsibilities
  • Manage all site incidents, ensuring they are resolved or escalated appropriately.
  • Ensure team members have solid development plans and that these are realized.
  • Complete team member EPA's and PDR's on time and to quality standards.
  • Manage relevant projects within agreed timescales and budgets.
  • Support all ICT systems on site, including SJS, education and healthcare networks, CCTV, Cell Call, alarm systems, and telephones.
  • Gather and maintain information required for certifications such as ISO27001 and MOJ accreditation.
  • Assist in solving business problems by providing detailed advice and guidance to customers, demonstrating ingenuity in complex situations.
  • Monitor incidents and resolution speeds, proactively recommending system improvements.

The Ideal Candidate
Essential
  • ITIL Foundation certification or higher.
  • Excellent customer-facing skills and support passion.
  • Logical and analytical fault-finding skills.
  • Experience working with protected information environments.
  • Microsoft qualifications are advantageous.
  • Basic networking knowledge, including WAN and LAN.
  • Understanding of information assurance and data protection legislation such as GDPR.
Desirable
  • PRINCE2 or other project management qualifications.
  • Microsoft certifications.
  • SC clearance or ability to obtain it.
Package Details

Salary up to £45,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Working hours: 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday).
