Job summary

Blue Arrow seeks a Technical Operations Manager in the North East on a full-time, permanent basis. The role leads specialist technical projects, delivers water management, compliance and treatment solutions, and provides hands-on leadership for field engineers to ensure safe, efficient delivery.

The position requires strong regulatory knowledge, coordination of resources, and a focus on safety and quality across diverse sites, with responsibility from mobilisation through to project completion.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years in the water treatment industry.
• Strong chemical and technical knowledge of closed systems, cooling towers, boiler water treatment, pre-commission cleaning, disinfection, and remedial works.
• Experience leading field-based engineers and complex projects.
• Solid understanding of water hygiene and regulatory compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and technical oversight across specialist projects and service operations, ensuring safety, efficiency, and regulatory compliance.
• Lead, support, and develop field-based teams through coaching and mentoring.
• Maintain a visible presence across operational sites, conducting inspections and quality reviews.
• Take ownership of project delivery from planning to completion, ensuring budgets, timescales and quality.
• Coordinate labour, materials, subcontractors, and resources for effective project execution.
• Ensure compliance with health & safety legislation and ISO standards; develop risk assessments and safe systems of work.
• Conduct site safety inspections, audits, and incident investigations with corrective actions.
• Ensure full compliance with HSE legislation and water treatment industry standards.
