Job summary

Bristol City Council is seeking an experienced Technical Manager to join the Accessible Homes and TEC Hub in Bristol. You will co-lead a multidisciplinary team of technical professionals, delivering home adaptations across public and private sector homes, while providing expert advice and ensuring high safety and value for money.

You will oversee technical standards, contractor performance, and collaboration with caseworkers and occupational therapists, helping us deliver a joined-up service

Qualifications

• Strong construction, building, surveying, housing or property expertise.
• Experience of leading, supporting and developing technical staff.
• Strong knowledge of construction standards, compliance and health and safety.
• Experience of managing contractors, quality and performance.
• Excellent judgement, communication and partnership-working skills.
• A commitment to inclusive leadership, excellent customer service and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop our team of technical professionals to deliver adaptations.
• Provide expert technical advice and support for complex cases.
• Ensure adaptations are delivered safely to high standards and value for money.
• Oversee technical standards, contractor performance, quality assurance, risk and service performance.
• Collaborate with caseworkers, occupational therapists and colleagues across Housing and Adult Social Care.
