Job summary

Wyke Farms in the United Kingdom is seeking a Site Technical Manager to oversee food safety, quality, legality across site operations and lead the technical team at the Wincanton site.

You will champion a strong food safety culture, manage HACCP/VACCP/TACCP, ensure certification and export compliance, and partner with site management on technical projects while developing KPIs for continuous improvement.

Job Title: Site Technical Manager

Main Purpose:

Responsible for ensuring food safety, quality, legality, and compliance across site operations, and managing the site technical team

Department: Technical

Location: Wincanton

Reports to: Group Technical Manager

Main duties

• Manage the food safety, quality and legality systems across the site
• Coach and develop the Site Technical Team and monitor performance
• Promote a strong food safety culture across the site.
• HACCP, VACCP and TACCP team leader for the site
• Drive and maintain site compliance to certification requirements, customer codes of practice, BRCGS requirements and export legislation.
• Work with the Site Management Team on all projects to ensure technical compliance.
• Lead the site technical function during customer audits, visits and regulatory inspections.
• Develop and review site technical KPIs, in line with the business objectives, and create a framework for continuous improvement.
• Manage the supplier and traded goods approval system and monitor performance.
• Explore innovative ways of driving improved site performance.
• Product Specification generation and control.
• Support the wider Technical function across Wyke Farms.
• As required assist with projects across the Wyke Farms business.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

Essential:

• Strong background in food technical management.
• Proven track record in managing technical teams.
• Demonstrable audit leadership experience.
• Strong communication, organisation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong understanding of quality systems, food safety standards, and regulatory compliance.

Desirable:

• Experience within a dairy or cheese manufacturing sector.
• Qualification in Food Science, Dairy Science, or related field.
• Experience in export and multi-market compliance.
• Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies.
