Job summary

Cognisant is seeking a Technical Manager for a private SME developer. You will take ownership of schemes from early stages, working across planning, design, infrastructure and delivery to drive successful outcomes.

The role covers technical input across residential and mixed-use schemes, coordinating engineering, highways, drainage and utilities, and managing external consultants through planning and pre-construction.

Job description

Cognisant is working with a privately owned SME developer looking to appoint a Technical Manager. The business is active across strategic land, residential and mixed-use development, with several large and complex sites progressing through planning and delivery. They are looking for someone with a strong technical background who can take ownership of schemes from the early stages and work across planning, design, infrastructure and delivery.

The role will include:

• Managing technical input across residential and mixed-use schemes
• Coordinating engineering, highways, drainage and utilities
• Managing external consultants and technical information
• Supporting sites through planning and pre-construction
• Reviewing technical constraints and identifying solutions early
• Working closely with Land, Planning and Development teams
• Supporting the technical delivery of strategic land opportunities

An engineering background would be preferred, particularly someone with strong experience across infrastructure, highways and drainage etc.

The role would suit an experienced Technical Manager, Engineering Manager or Senior Engineer looking for a broader development-led position.
