Job summary

Lewis Garner Consulting is recruiting a Factory Technical Manager for a prominent food manufacturing site in the UK. The role provides day-to-day technical leadership, ensures compliance with food safety, quality and customer requirements, and reports to senior operations.

Working Monday to Friday, days, the post comes with a salary up to £55k per annum plus 33 days holiday and a comprehensive benefits package.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day technical leadership for the factory and ensure compliance with food safety, quality, legal and customer requirements.
• Own and maintain the site's HACCP system, ensuring it remains current, effective and validated.
• Ensure CCPs, CPs and associated monitoring systems are effectively implemented and verified.
• Lead investigations into food safety incidents, deviations, and potential product contamination.
• Maintain and continuously improve the site's Quality Management System.
• Ensure appropriate specifications, procedures, work instructions and quality standards are maintained.
• Manage customer technical queries, complaints and requests within agreed timescales.
• Oversee allergen controls, including segregation, cleaning, labeling and verification.

KPI's of the role:

• Provide day-to-day technical leadership for the factory, ensuring compliance with all relevant food safety, quality, legal and customer requirements.
• Have strong people management and leadership skills.
• Possess strong technical strategic knowledge / leadership.
• Own and maintain the site's HACCP system, ensuring it remains current, effective, and appropriately validated.
• Ensure CCPs, CPs and associated monitoring systems are effectively implemented and verified.
• Lead investigations into food safety incidents, deviations, and potential product contamination.
• Maintain and continuously improve the site's Quality Management System.
• Ensure appropriate specifications, procedures, work instructions, and quality standards are maintained.
• Manage customer technical queries, complaints, and requests within agreed timescales.
• Ensure effective management of allergen controls, including segregation, cleaning, labelling, and verification.
• Maintain the site in a state of continuous audit readiness.
