Job summary

Zest is seeking a Technical Manager to own the site's technical function in the North West England region. You will be the most senior technical on site and play a key role in the Senior Leadership Team, shaping strategy, standards and culture.

The role requires deep HACCP knowledge, extensive food industry experience, and proven leadership of Technical, Quality and Hygiene teams to ensure food safety and customer compliance.

Qualifications

• Senior technical leadership experience in food manufacturing.
• 10+ years in the food industry.
• Experience leading customer audits.
• Strong HACCP and BRC knowledge.
• Experience leading and developing teams.
• Food Safety and HACCP qualifications.
• Degree in Food Science or relevant field.

Are you an experienced technical leader who's ready to take full ownership of a site's technical function and make a real difference to its future?

We're delighted to be supporting a well-established food manufacturer with the appointment of a Technical Manager. This is a senior role. You'll be the most senior technical person on site and a key member of the Senior Leadership Team. You'll have a real voice in how the site develops, and you'll shape its technical strategy, its standards and its culture.

The Role

• Lead the whole site technical function as the most senior technical person on site
• Sit as part of the site Senior Leadership Team
• Lead the Technical, Quality and Hygiene teams
• Lead all aspects of food safety, quality and compliance
• Develop and drive the site technical strategy
• Maintain food safety standards in line with BRC and customer requirements
• Drive continuous improvement across the site
• Lead customer visits and on-site audits
• Develop, coach and support the technical team to reach their full potential
• Manage and build strong, trusted relationships with customers

Requirements

• Proven experience in a senior technical role within food manufacturing
• At least 10 years' experience within the food industry
• Experience leading customer audits
• Strong understanding of HACCP and BRC standards
• Experience leading and developing teams
• Food Safety and HACCP qualifications
• A degree in Food Science or a relevant qualification

The ideal candidate will be working in a similar position within food production.
