Job summary

Alchem Partners are recruiting a Technical Manager for a family-owned, innovative chemical group. You will lead all technical aspects of production and product development in R&D, driving excellence and implementing solutions to improve efficiency and quality.

The role combines technical leadership with commercial influence, requiring cross-functional collaboration across production, R&D, and commercial teams. A strong degree in chemistry and senior leadership experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Degree in Chemistry or related scientific subject.
• Experience leading technical projects and cross-functional teams.
• Experience in coatings industry is a plus.
• Experience in chemical manufacturing or R&D.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; able to influence stakeholders.

Job description

Our client is looking to recruit an experienced Technical Manager, someone who has a strong grasp of both the technical and commercial acumen for such a role.

The successful individual will lead and oversee all technical aspects of the production processes and product development within R&D. You will be responsible for driving technical excellence, implementing innovative solutions to improve efficiency and product quality. You will also continue to develop strategies that drive towards the creation of disruptive technologies which will contribute to future revenue streams.

• Degree in Chemistry or related scientific subject
• Significant experience at leadership level in a similar role, one with both technical and commercial responsibility
• Have experience working within the coatings industry would be highly advantageous
• Experience within the chemical space either manufacturing or R&D
• Proven experience managing technical projects and leading cross functional teams
• Strong experience of process improvement and quality assurance
• A commercially astute individual who can lead their technical team but also be a visible presence amongst the commercial teams and customers

This role will suit an individual who not only has the above experiences/qualifications but someone who is a true problem solver, a person with excellent analytical skills with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.

In return our client is offering a salary of c£65,000pa negotiable doe, up to 20% bonus plus benefits including private healthcare, enhanced holiday allowance with a buy back scheme, regular CSM days and charity focused days.
